In February 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released updated guidance on the need for following measures to prevent COVID-19 transmission. The new guidelines primarily address the circumstances under which the wearing of masks may be required or optional and are based on the status of COVID infections at the county level. CDC has developed an online questionnaire to determine the county's status. The level of risk in Orange County, Virginia, currently falls into the "medium" level. At this level, masks in indoor settings are optional according to the particular individual's needs and wishes. For detailed information about the new CDC guidelines, click here.
Effect of New Guidelines on LOWLINC Services: Since the inception of the pandemic LOWLINC has followed CDC guidelines in determining how to provide needed services to members in a way that protects both members’ and volunteers’ health and wellbeing. With the new CDC guidelines, LOWLINC has modified its service guidelines to reflect the easing of mask restrictions: wearing masks in indoor settings at LOWLINC social events, meetings and other functions is now optional. See the Member Services Guidelines link for details.
We are committed to the safety and well-being of our members and volunteers and will continue to monitor and comply with CDC, State and LOWA guidelines.
