Our Mission
LOWLINC transforms the lives of older adults, empowering people to be healthy, happy, and connected on their own terms as they age. Our programs and volunteer services support choice, control, and connections with others.
How We Accomplish Our Mission
LOWLINC offers older adults at Lake of the Woods opportunities and choices to live safely and independently in their homes with the following:
-
Services for members, provided by volunteers (e.g., transportation, light home maintenance, friendly visits and check-in calls, errands, tech support)
- Engaging social activities for members and volunteers
- Referrals to approved service providers (e.g., plumbers, electricians, landscapers) for members and volunteers
- Health/wellness and educational opportunities for members, volunteers and others in the community, often in collaboration with other organizations.
Our Vision
We envision a world where everyone has access to the services and support they need to age well, staying connected with their community and living with hope and dignity.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
LOWLINC celebrates diversity and believes our members, volunteers, staff, and others involved in our organization should feel welcomed, respected, heard, and valued regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, age, ability, or any other characteristic. We strive to create an equitable, inclusive, safe, and supportive community where older adults are encouraged to participate and thrive.
